Nice! I like it smile

Cool, thanks for the link.  smile

Do you think if I hit the update button on the IPad that it would take it to 2.1.18 from 2.1.19? the way on the link scares me a bit. I'm sure it would be fine but rather do the safer still warranty way.

I had one battery with the same issue, charge for about an hour and a half then the light would flash I would unplug then try again but then it took another hour and a half. For some odd reason now it works just fine, like it sorted itself out after a couple frustrating charges. Was very close to sending back to Parrot. I literally had a 2.0 battery get beaten by the 1.0 charger and battery.. Only thing I did was take off and reattach the adaptor plug on the charger.

Hey guys, a quick question. If I got 2.1.19beta firmware but now have an iPad 3 for that drone can I just hit the upgrade now and overwrite to 2.1.18? Or am I stuck with 2.1.19 till the next release? It is not fun running 2.1.19 with our pad.  hmm

Even though I have some concerns about the firmware issues I would still say go for it. I have had a blast flying mine and messing with the videos. They will fix the firmware stuff soon anyways. Like some other people have said, be sure to fly on calm days. Most of my issues have come on days with wind over 10kph. You will love it!   big_smile

Cheers

I know right! She is a camera and tech geek, proud for sure. She was the first to fly it over 20m...  cool

They generally happen around 2m, be flying along slowly, stop to hover and the drone starts to lower to the ground until either I stop the descent or it brushes the ground and continues fly and or hits tall grass/dandelions and cuts the motors. We don't take it out in winds higher than 12kph but I really do think that plays a factor pushing the drone down. I should really be saying it lowers itself rather than drops, though with a breeze it lowers rather fast lol. 2.1.18 does this as well, not as often and the drone seems to notice sooner and does not hit the ground.... usually.

I will still fly mine with 2.1.18 but our last flight with her drone (x4 batteries) was us flying for a couple minutes then watching it lower to the ground-hit-bounce up and continue flying or hit the grass with a prop. All with outdoor settings on and the outdoor hull. Got some awesome pics of the drone while it was flying. I wonder if I should just downgrade hers to 2.1.18? I hate messing with firmware smile

The still very proud owner.

Drone over the CN Tower in Toronto.

Here is a shot of the compatibility list on the back of my USB stick package. This one works every time. smile

Whoops, should have been more clear. She is running 2.1.19, I'm on 2.1.18 and hers exhibits the drop of altitude much more. Mine does this as well but does not drop as often. I think both have issues but hers is scary to fly. My "much safer to fly" is just from seeing both in action. Eg.. 1 battery worth of flying hers drops 3 times to the ground, mine usually only does it once-ish. It just seems like once a down draft hits the drone does not respond well to it. Those ultrasonics would know the ground is coming closer and we are not giving any inputs to lower altitude. Anyways, I think Parrot gave us a bad ass toy but really needs to fix this one quick cause I'm addicted to flying it now. Those drops make myself and wife uneasy flying, don't want to wreck it. Has been a sheer pleasure to fly just want to share these bits of information. big_smile

P.S. Worst thing that has happened so far have been motor cut outs due to hitting a dandelion, most times it just hits the ground lightly and bounces up. She got ar freeflight 2.0 beta (android) that I think has 2.1.19 update in it, mine was for my IPad2. Run both drone control HD and freeflight 2.0. May be a bit wierd for us because she did run on HTC Desire but now runs on IPad3.

Cheers, happy flying

After a bunch of flights and testing with my wife's drone and my drone we know it's the firmware causing my wife's drone to drop altitude and either bounce off the grass or crash. We both love our drones and hate watching it drop altitude and exhibit this behavior. My drone is running 2.1.18 and is much safer to fly. I also have a 1.0 that flies close to the ground (3-6') and is completely stable changing altitude. I want to be the one making the mistake and crashing my drone not a firmware bug.. This was all low altitude flights (3-9') with light winds causing some down drafts, the drone should know the ground is getting closer. I know we can downgrade the firmware but we should not have to. At this point her drone is grounded till the next update comes out. Fly safe!

Look for a USB that is compatible with basically everything(Linux, Mac Os, pc) my first USB stick did not work but I got one that was compatible with all types has worked perfect. I think Parrot should be more specific about USB compatibility requirements. Cheers.

I only found this happens if I flip my iPad around while switching batteries. Now I make sure I don't flip the screen. Try exiting the app turn wifi off, flip pad around and start it all up again. Hope this helps smile

I was pretty curious to see how the app would work with my HTC because it was working really well with the older version. Very happy with the flight, video recording worked well and turned the altitude limiter up to 5m. All seemed to work nicely. Turning off video recording seemed to drop my controls while the video processed, scared me a bit lol. Too windy to play up at 5m for long but very happy that that seemed to work.

My wife got the 2.0 dialed into our other HTC Desire. We did have some troubles indoors with absolute mode but outside it was perfect. Took some streaming videos that look good but were way smoother on USB. Wish it was less windy.

Cheers, fly safe. smile

Boom got it right, why would you want to do this? I may have jumped the gun saying it would be easy, but that was more to try and push you away from the dark side! I love my drone and killed my budget getting one, I want to be the one to wreck it. What did I do to you?

Let's be clear here. Even though the drone is in the air it is still the property of the pilot. Any attempt to do something like this would be illegal, pretty shady stuff your suggesting here. Very very easy to track the phones that would do this. No need to be vindictive because your drone broke. I just hope you get it fixed and have some fun.

Noticed the freeflight app crash once yesterday, think it may have crashed because my phone created a new file for the videos to save into. I hope this is why it did. After that the app never crashed but I still cannot view the videos that I took. Doing some more testing today and hope to sort it out. All on my HTC desire hd. Drone was well behaved and interacted with the phone nicely big_smile

Omg, that's so as they add these features they don't have to change the damn box. Get over it, it's new and these features are coming. Enjoy flying it while you wait. Wicked new toy and all people do is whine.

Good thing Parrot checks flight data(last 30sec) when these units go back. I trust they will make sure issues are taken care of. Helps to keep us flying. This be easy to solve once Parrot looks at it.  smile
