Topic: Need help - had literally fire and smoke on motor

Hello,

Please, kindly need your help ASAP. We have AR.Drone 2.0 - one of the first ones to be sold. For about two weeks it worked perfectly (although battery worked only 10 minutes, not 15, but that's different issue).

Now we have following problem: the device did not start at all and after a while it all of a sudden had sparkles of fire (yes, literally fire) and smoke on the right lower propeller motor.

Please kindly advise, what should we do? What do you think is the problem?

Thanks and regards

Zemleli

Re: Need help - had literally fire and smoke on motor

@zemleli....i had the exact same issue with the exact same motor//....right rear motor!!!! except that my drone is not even a week old and i have done only ten very short flights with it!!!! i woke up this morning and reconnected the battery and waited for the classic shudder that the four props do to indicate that they are all initialised ...then one motor didnt come on with the red led....and poof next thing i saw smoke and a litlle flame and i immediately disconnected the battery and smelt burn!!!!! needless to say im heartbroken...ive spent a fair packet to get one of the first ardrone 2.0's in the country but its now dead.....im in dubai so i dont even know offhand where i should write or call to access parrot support!!!!! any suggestions pls pls....SOS!!!! all help is very appreciated!!!!

Re: Need help - had literally fire and smoke on motor

Guys, understand that these are brushless motors. Bottom line is that things go awry. I used to race RC cars and I had 2 motors cook on me. It happens. Though I might add not that often. I would have to agree contact Parrot to get it sorted, you should have no issues
