I know a lot of people had done the mode to control the drone via R/C remote just to be able to control it better with joysticks (aside from the increased range)
I was thinking that those Fling ipad joysticks will be a simple inexpensive alternative. Has anyone tried this?
I just tested those Fling joysticks and for the most part they work great for flying the ar drone. It took me a minute to get use to them but then I was flying like a pro. They have a nice feeling and make flying a bit easier in my opinion.
The only issues that came up was if I had the flip enabled, I would sometimes accidentally flip the drone. With a little bit of a change with the position of the flings and finger pressure I was able to midagate this. The suction cups would sometimes come off, but my iPad was dirty; you should clean the screen before you attach them.
All in all, I give them a rating of 4.5 out of 5. They work great after you get use to them.
