Topic: Question about how it reacts on a specific situation (1.0 and 2.0)

Ok the question is simple.

Let say we are in first floor of a building.
How will 1.0 and 2.0 (if different in this case), react if we take it out the window?
Will it react to the sudden distance from apparent "earth" and stay in position or will it drop accordingly? (or even crash?)

Opposite, how will 1.0 and 2.0 (again if different) react to ENTERING a window on a higher floor? Will it try to stay to same level or will it react and crash on the ceiling?

Again, I'd like both 1.0 and 2.0 user experience (although of course I am more interested in 2.0 as I don't have a drone yet).

Re: Question about how it reacts on a specific situation (1.0 and 2.0)

I've seen videos, including some from Parrot, where they flew the drone like you described. There's one on YouTube of a v1 that some guys flew off an interior balcony in a hotel that had a big indoor courtyard. So, there must be a way to disable the altitude control

Erm, sorry English not my first language, so what happens when it goes out? It drops or stays put?

Anybody knows from personal experience and not from youtube videos? big_smile

What, nobody knows???

Re: Question about how it reacts on a specific situation (1.0 and 2.0)

2.0 works with barometric pressure and ultrasound sensors so it shouldnt be a problem where as the 1.0 only uses its ultrasound sensors.
i wouldnt try it with a 1.0 but i (me myself up to you if you want to) would try it with the 2.0  wink
in all fairness the 2.0 should maintain the level it enters the room/window. as long as you keep it at about 1m- 2 meters from the floor.
im only going by specs as the drone 2.0 is not out in the uk yet  sad

ok thanks
I hope someone has tried and can tell us - it's something SO weird to try

Re: Question about how it reacts on a specific situation (1.0 and 2.0)

Indeed this I think will do.
And is ar.drone 1.0.
(I believe 2.0 is better not worse)

Thanks.

Re: Question about how it reacts on a specific situation (1.0 and 2.0)

tried it within the range of the ultrasonic sensor some time ago.
gained altitude a little and flew it into the loft space in the second floor. drone flew just straight.
given both floors were within the range of the ultrasonic sensor.
i have video from the drone if you want to see it.

it is hard to guess what is going to happen in any situation until parrot releases the SDK and source of FreeFlight 2.0
