although it's a good idea to use foam to protect the gears, placing foam disks that large right under prop centers won't do any good for the flight characteristics. this would be ok with regular props since they push a lot more air at the tips than the center (rotational velocity at the tips is a lot higher than the center). notice the curve of the props we are using. that curve is pushing air even at the center of the props which gives the drone a good chunk of its agility.
so yes, it will fly, it will flip, but don't expect sudden stops before you hit a wall or hover as steady as before.
as discussed on this forum before, gears are meant to be broken to protect the drone from further damage. in fact i want mine to break a lot easier than normal.
and they are the same price with this foam.
ps. i tried these things on my 2.0. yeah, it still flies. nope, it sucks.
