Topic: How to get your total flight time

If you want to find out the total flight time for your Drone 2.0 but don't want to purchase either AR.Pro or Drone Ace, you can get this info using telnet.

Connect your Mac or Windows PC to your drone via wifi
Open Terminal (Mac) or Command Prompt (Windows - make sure you enabled telnet, google it)

Run the following commands:

telnet 192.168.1.1

cat /data/config.ini

[general]

flying_time                          = 13216

num_version_config             = 1
num_version_mb                 = 33
num_version_soft                = 2.1.16

Flying time is in seconds.

If you go through the entire config.ini file, there are a lot of other settings which I think can be adjusted to tune the drone. I have no idea yet what those variables do. Will see if it's in the SDK.

Re: How to get your total flight time

I have a problem. Haha. I bought the first generation drone used on CL "barely used" but after the fact found out using drone ace that it had been flown for 14 hours. It had been beat up enough that I only got about another 1.5 hours out of it before one accident caused the cross section to break, and I couldn't afford to replace it.
Fast forward to the release of the 2.0. My wife didn't have the heart to tell me we could not really justify a $300 purchase, and it was near my birthday. Ordered it. Took forever to get it. Take it out on its first flight, all is good. Second flight, hard landing but no biggie, until I realize the pinion gear on the motor had flown off!  Have to replace the entire motor just to get that gear. It was depressing enough to be in a Disney movie. So the drone sat in my office, waiting for the day I could justify another $50+ for a toy.

Last week I show up to work, and there is a box behind my managers desk. They have me open it, and it turns out a bunch of my co workers and the general manager pooled their $$ together to get me a whole new drone!  Best guys ever. (mostly they wanted to see one, and I never got a chance to bring it into work) and they bought me an extended battery as well. So I went from having a broken drone, to having a parts drone and a functioning one, 4 batteries and 3 chargers.

The final chapter of this is that on Monday, I came down with a nasty infection. Actually borderline life threatening at the time, so I have been out sick all week. And while loopy on Percocet, I have had all the time in the world to fly as often as I want. And with all 4 batteries, I get about 50 minutes of flight time.

I am addicted!

A little column a, a little column b.

So far (now past 10 hours) I have only had one crash into a fern, so it was soft.  Here is a playlist of some of my flights on YouTube.

Re: How to get your total flight time

Just checked my flying time but i have a feeling that it gives me wrong information.
It says my flying time is 1480, just 24 minutes. But I already flew a couple of hours with it according to drone control.

Re: How to get your total flight time

Drone Control reads the same file to get total flight time so it should be the same.

Re: How to get your total flight time

ah yes drone control says that in lower right corner.
But there it also says just 24 minutes.
I counted the time in the navigation data, that's a bit more correct then the time in the config.

I think the total fly time got a reset to 0 or something, although i haven't reset my drone
