Topic: Ar Drone 2 flip unstable

When I use the flip feature in FreeFlight, my drone flips but as soon as it finishes, it looses a lot of altitude and looks like its about to crash, you could say its always having to recover very violently, and looks like its always about to crash and if I don't put it at full throttle after it flips, it usually hits the ground.

And yes, i am doing this in 0 MPH wind, and it is at sufficient altitudes, about 7ft in the air, it is practically a brand new Drone, got it 7 days ago, and has never been crashed, is running Firmware 1.18 and I'm waiting to upgrade to a better Firmware than 2.20.

Is this a current problem with 1.18 Firmware, or is there a more extensive problem?

sorry * Is this a current problem with 2.1.18 Firmware, or is there a more extensive problem?

I think it is a blade issue I had this problem and put a new set of blades on and it does not happen know.

2.1.16 and 2.1.18 do the same.  Flip drop!     

Fix?  Yes!   Don´t Flip... Or flip when you are near Heaven! (or Nirvana)!

Let's wait for the far and remote possibility of some decent firmware in the future.... Before The-End-Of-The-World!  hmm

Three weeks later... "i finally straightened my props and all my problems are gone!!!"

You can't just look at your props and see lift problems

Your not gonna find a different answer... lack of lift is your problem

Ok, I will try it, whats the best way to remove the C-clips that hold the propellors on?

I don't believe it is a prop issue, mine would drop on firmware 2.1.18 while doing a flip, but not with 2.1.16, just my two cents.

I posted a video on Youtube about my problem, it drops about a foot every flip and tries hard to "correct/save" itself after the flips. But the last flip is what happens most of the time (no matter how high it is, it always has to hit the ground and comes back up...)

OK, so b00mb00mchuck's propellor straightening technique was the fix. Anyone with the problem, just look at the thread. big_smile
