Topic: Just updated to latest freeflight and firmware

So far so good inside, headed outside now to test:

AR Freeflight 2.1
Freeflight version 2.1.6
Drone hardware 2.1
Software 2.2.3
Inertial hardware 2.3
Software 5.34

Update soon, got three batteries!

All good here in Budapest! Flew fine, although seemed to drop altitude sometimes when moving fast one direction and releasing controls. But it is breezy/windy out... So may be a factor. Otherwise seemed smoother etc... Here is a clip of first flight, didn't want to go too high because of the breeze...

I can't seem to access the altitude readout/speed etc... Am I missing something!?!?

I go to ar.drone academy and it doesn't allow me to click on "my flights". It would be in there correct?

Figures... we weren't assuming all this stuff was gonna work... were we?

i gott the new freeflight app for iphone and when i press update buttom the update only goes litle more than half and then the app closes.?

I don't use absolute control... Prefer joysticks... Front being front rear being rear etc... Got really good and used to it! To each their own!

mine just updated flawlessly - took about 4 minutes to complete the installing phase and get green LEDs smile

Did you do that on purpose or are we looking at some examples for the altitude drops you mentioned? Looks very much like the altidude drops I am experiencing with FW 2.1.18 outdoors

Not on purpose, just low altitude fast moves and let go of controls it would altitude drop suddenly. Not a big issue, just need to stay a little higher and not be as aggressive, for me.

The new update has been great for me, now I feel in full control of my drone, unlike before!

Before it would sway all over the place, but now if I let go of the controls it pretty much just hovers there!

Still get some altitude drops, but like the above person says, they aren't too bad.

In Drone Academy "My Flights" wasn't selectable until I uploaded a video to youtube then all of my flights that day were visable.

Bit the bullet and updated firmware to 2.2.3.
Only have been able to try it indoors since it's raining hard here. Flies similar to 2.1.16, maybe a bit more snappy and stable. No altitude drops as expected using indoor hull.

Video seems to be sharper but maybe because I also re-focused the lens.

No change in battery consumption - roughly 8.5 minutes till auto land (indoor hull, orig batt and recording to iDevice the whole time)

Will try outdoor flight when the rains stop.

Firmware upgrade has trashed motor 2 on my drone so I still don't know what the new free flight is like! I'm on holiday too so getting this fixed is going to be an issue.

Problem is I'm away from home for another week and don't have access to my pc. Is there anyway you can force a re upgrade with iPad and free flight ?
