Topic: Problems with FreeFlight

Updated to Firm. 2.2.3, but nothing but problems. Controll is reversed, tochscreen frezzing, cant fly like this at all. Lots of small crashes.

Also frequently get: AR. FreeFlight isn`t responding Do you want to close it?

Ar. Drone 2.0
FreeFlight v.2.05
Samsung nexus  S  Android ver. 4.1.1, Kernel vers. 3.0.31, Build nr. jr003e.

Before with 2.1.16 and Ice cream sandwich, everything was allmost perfect.

I downgraded again to 2.1.16 but also controll is reversed, touchscree frezzing, ect.

What could be the problem??

Made factory reset on my Samsung nexus S, reinstalled freeflight v.2.0.5, but still problems:

Drone takes off, howers, but can not move up,down, right, left, it just howers.

After landing 4-5 times  it works. It flyes allmost perfect using absolut control.

Freeflight lost 2 times the connection, but drone howerd at about 5-6m and reconected after again, so this time no damage.

Whats going on????

Re: Problems with FreeFlight

Galaxy nexus s

Processor... 1GHz single core
Memory...... 512MB RAM

This device is barely able to keep the freeflight app running

You should try ARDrone Flight and turn down some video rates

Re: Problems with FreeFlight

Hello all,

I was in the beginning curious at what they should say by Parrot and after a week they react:

How is it possible that I update my Drone with the latesd Firmware (must be 2.2.30 according your website) and I look after a succusful update in my Drone and see firmware version 2.1.20, the one that is going to brick my Drone.....

And this is the reaction:

Hello,

It's not a problem. it depond of the system of your remote.

You have an Android OS, So you have also Ar. free flight V2.05.The firmware that works with this version for android is 2.1.20.

Regards,

------------

Nothing about the dangeres 2.1.20 and nothing about the error on the site, they must write there that 2.1 with 2.2.30 is only for Mac and Android is only 2.0.5 with firmware 2.1.20 (and this is dangeres, better 2.1.16).
Strange that Parrot say nothing about this, a newby don't understand this and shall make mistakes.

Now I have learned a lot, also in this site, because there is so much technic knowledge in this site, super!

Happy landing....

Re: Problems with FreeFlight

He doesn't have an iPad... kinda hard to update to 2.2.3 on android

And 2.2.3 screws up the video frame rate anyway so it's best to just stay on 2.1.16 until they release something that's working properly

Re: Problems with FreeFlight

I only have my android device and I updated my drone, really easy, you just have to find the firmware file

Correct its no problem to get 2.2.30 on the drone with Android alone, but I prefere 2.1.16 less problems with my combination, Asus Infinity 700 and Drone 2.0 only WiFi signal is to weak, so I must get an repeater. And when I can't solve it with my Android I take my " old" I-pad 1.

Re: Problems with FreeFlight

Easy option, get an iPad... No problems this end ... Runs all fine with update on my Pad and iPhone

Re: Problems with FreeFlight

I use an iPad one and it works like a dream.... U won't have any issues. Keep in mind that the Freeflight app was originally created for the iPad and iPhone only.... Andoid versions were ported...
