Topic: ar drone ultrasound emregency

Hi .

This is my first new topic in the forum and I've actually have a huge problem.

I'm trying to take off the ar.drone but I keep getting the messege "ULTRASOUND EMERGENCY"

and the manual emergency button is pressed automatic.

please help me.

I take it you have tried the usual reset options? Are you running the latest firemware? I know the latest version has some ultrasonic improvements.  Failing those suggestions I would conclude you have an issue with your nav board. It might mean a return for service, not something anyone wants to hear.  I have had to send my drone back twice as well.

Thanx man.... I've tried the usual reset options and took it to the store.. they told me I have to replace my nav board...

Hi..after a crash from 3 mt i receive this error. Must i replace nav board? It's my first crash...is it too simple brake nav board?

what a nightmare!!!!first crossbar then motor control then propeller then bunk parts on ebay then return rebuy rebuy rebuy now finally....could this be the day i accually get some flight time..... ULTRASOUND ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!nnnoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo guess ill just get my 2.0 back out and rebuy rebuy

p.s. my buddy is waiting for parts to fix his 3RD   YES 3RD drone 2.0

my buddy's 3rd yes 3rd ar drone 2.0 went up up up and away. he was so mad after 1,000 bucks and several parts he gave me his other 2 2.0 drones! and i stupidly boughgt a nav board for my first ar drone 1.0 and while waiting for it pieced together a working 2.0...i reset reupdated re uninstalled re reinstalled reset re updated and it did the spin thing for 3 or 4 seconds. right as im about to kick this thing into smitherenes (which although i have wanted to, never have) it suddenly flew 7 to 8 feet in the air and leveled out????? i have flown it twice more and then it started spinning again. meanwhile the nav board for my 1st ar drone arrives and well im going to re everything again tomarrow and then i will be listing the whole lot of junk on ebay....unless for some odd statistic i am the only person who has had so much trouble making me discusted with this thing. basically the nav board is not causing the problem. and yes i have modified the cam to tilt down a bit and put a led strip on it for a flighty or two but come on i got one chance left for the 1500.00 pile of shit in my office not including the one somewhere on the las vegas strip....hope this helps someone not replace the nav board 3 times

Hi guys if had a drone for just over a week now and loving it tho i have had some insane crashes in my first week flying and snapped a cog clean in half bent 2 pins had a tilt emergency at 31m and hit the deck HARD! And crashed it into some guys car because of wind ( he was not amused ) toke off again With the unnoticed naped cog and it's SMASHED into the boot that that the same guy was unloading ( I was livid at a pic watchdog emergency message and busted cog and the man was scared ) any way sorted the nav card out every thing is a green fixed up the cogs and pins today was very easy. Went for a test flight in are barn every thing seem fine tho the vertical speed seems to change it ether hits the speed I ask it to or hits what seems like a default speed no matter what settings I have. Could this have something to do with air pressure sensor in a in closed building trying to stop it going mad or a fault with the drone? P.s sixdoll sorry your having so many problems man.

After 3 months of perfect flying, suddenly I get 'ultrasound emergency' and I can't take off - gets up about 2ft then lands and that's it. Have read the above - did'nt help at all, Have reset, shut down everything to reboot. Still the same. Help!

Most likely you need a new nav board.  But... before you blow some $$$ be sure to completely remove all of the nav board connections from the main board and then reassemble and see if that helps.  Sometimes the errors are caused by a bad connection to the nav board. 

For me however I was getting that error massage out of the box and it eventually led to a bad crash that also broke my main board.  After replacing both my main board and nav board I have never received the same error, and I'm loving it.
