Topic: Unable to connect to Drone

Parrot Advisor UK 2,

I also got this kind of problem after i update ARDrone to 1.91 using on  AR. FreeFlight my ipod touch ver 4.2.1
Eventually drone become a brick and totally missing from wifi connection. This kind of problem had happened on all of my 5 drones.
Is that any solution to help me??
Thank you   big_smile

Re: Unable to connect to Drone

There are not any issues with software version 1.9.1 that I'm aware that would cause you to not to be able to connect to 5 Drones.
First if you are unable to conenct to 5 Drones and you are using the same iPod can you try the following with one Drone.

Firstly can you fully charge the battery.
• Once you have done this on the AR Drone push the un-pair button then push the 'reset' button and place the AR Drone on a flat level     surface and unplug the battery.
• On the iPod go the WiFi menu tap on the AR Drone and select 'Forget this device'.
• Reconnect the battery on the AR Drone and wait for the leds to go green.
• Put your iPod into Airplane mode, switch on the WiFi and try to reconnect to the AR Drone.

If the led's on your AR Drone are green and you are still unable to connect can you try resetting your iPod Touch (By holding the power and home button until you see the white Apple logo).
If you still observe the same behaviour do you have another Apple device you can try?

For in depth and detailed advice I wouild reconemnd to contact the AR Drone Support for your country for further assistance.

Re: Unable to connect to Drone

Parrot Advisor UK 2,
My AR.Drones are all unable to be discover by any WIFI devices currently, I tried different devices to update them i try ipad 2 with IOS 5, laptop with update.plf, two of my ipod touch before, but the outcome is the same--- brick.

Re: Unable to connect to Drone

u might have it on access-point mode, which is for Android users like me, i had the same problem and turned out it was on Ad-hoc mode, which is for Apple users. Hold down the unpair button for 5 sec.  The LEDs flash red when access-point mode is switched to ad-hoc mode. The LEDs flash green when ad-hoc mode is switched to access-point mode

Re: Unable to connect to Drone

Hi guys, same problem here in Belgium.  Bought a new ar drone but unable to connect with both Ipad1 and Iphone4.  Same message:no connection possible with network 'ardrone_176670'; Tried everything you guys wrote about, checked ad-hoc mode.  Even shut down my home WIFI network, nothing changes.  Please help?
@ Parrot advisor 2, is there a helpdesk in Belgium too?

Peter

Re: Unable to connect to Drone

Hi guys, thanks for your answers.  Problem solved! tried everything, nothing worked.  Went back to the shop and tried it there, no problem, immediate connection and take off. So the problem had to be at home.  Found out that my wireless camerasystem was giving interference. Thankx!
Merry X-mas!

Re: Unable to connect to Drone

We just got our AR Drone for Xmas. Turned it on, paired it up to ipad, had one flight....lots of fun!

Had one gentle crash - I think the battery was running low - so recharged, and tried to pair up with iphone 3GS, had some trouble, connected for a brief moment, unable to fly though.

Now the 4 rotor lights remain red all the time.

Tried to hold Unpair for 5 seconds, then held reset, unplugged, still red.

Held Unpair 5 seconds, reset 5 seconds, unplugged, still red.

It is not broadcasting a wi-fi signal at all now.

same problem sad much help is needed ASAP !!!! :@

Re: Unable to connect to Drone

Jimmmy03, was just told by the official AR Drone help desk that the all red on all 4 rotors means there's a problem on the main board.

I'm going to return the unit as unsuitable and get a refund. I can do that under the law here in Sydney.

I'm not going to wait for a warranty fix that will inconvenience me more. I've already spent hours to this point trying to fix it and now I need to make a special trip back to shop.

I may use the refund to buy another one again on the spot though........I'll decide then. Maybe I was just unlucky.......will certainly let this forum know.
