Topic: Cannot phone using Parrot 3200 LS carkit

When I try phoning a contact using the carkit I see the message "call failed" and there is no dialing tone.  However if I call one of my contacts using my mobile (Samsung Galaxy S2) it works perfectly jumping over to the handsfree almost immediately.   I can also receive calls on the carkit.  It used to work perfectly but has just started doing this recently.

Any advice is most welcome.

I would recommend resetting your phone, to reset, turn the phone off and remove the battery leaving this off for at least one minute before replacing and switching the phone back on.  When you next enter the vehicle see if this has resolved the situation.

I have done what you recommended and now at least the car kit makes an attempt to phone a contact.  However after the initial message "calling" appears, the dialing tone changes to a sound like "blip blip blip blip".  After a short while the message appears "call failed".

I have been thinking about what may have changed with my mobile that could have caused the carkit to no longer work properly, and the only thing I can think of is that I created a Skype account on my phone.  Could this be related?  I have absolutely no idea how all these things are linked so this of course could be nothing at all to do with it, but I thought it would be worth mentioning.

Any other ideas?

When you initiate a call have a look at the S2 screen - it may well be asking how you want to complete call .i.e. normal phone dialler or using Skype.
Select "normal" dialling and tick box to remember selection...
