Topic: HTC TYTN2

Anyone Experience with the MiniParror/HTC TYTN2 combination?
Mine loses audio connection often; Cannot take or place calls from the parrot regurlary; Seems to lose the bluetooth connection often. AudioQuality poor as soon as the other side does not speak firmly. Brand new equipment (2 weeks) We bought 30 sets for the compagny; everybody has more or less the same problems.
WM6 or Parrtor problems?

Re: HTC TYTN2

It's a known issue with the Parrot devices and certain Windows Mobile 6 devices.  I've had my Minikit and the HTC WM6 devices (s630, tytn II) for over 6 months now and they are just not working properly together. I was REALLY hoping the v1.03 release would resolve the bluetooth problems that everyone seems to be having.

Apparrently, they felt it was more important to make the Minikit iPhone compliant rather than making it work for all the customers that use HTC devices sad

I've just about had it with waiting for Parrot to get their act together on this.  6 months is more than long enough to wait.  I've paid 80 dollars US for this thing and it seems to work 15% of the time. I think I'm going to switch to the BlueAnt device that my coworker is using with his HTC Tytn II. It works flawlessly.

Re: HTC TYTN2

Hi

There is a bluetooth hotfix on the HTC website. This might help.

Regards

Hi

It's here

http://member.htc.com/member/SoftwareDetali.aspx?pid=13

but you have to login to the htc e-club to see it. If you have a network badged phone, eg Orange, you may have to get it from them directly.

Re: HTC TYTN2

Tried that. it doesnt work.
What I have done that SEEMS to improve functionality is actually sending my most common contacts from my device (Tytn II) to the Minikit. by assigning voicetags on the Minikit, dialing out seems to work 50% on the time, but receiving calls over the minikit seems slightly better...I'd say around 70%.

Hopefully, the new HTC and Parrot alliance straightens these problems out. If it does, I'm ordering a hardwired kit.

Hi,

I use Minikit with my Polaris because it looks good choice. But I have same problems with the wm6 and wm6.1 too.  Somethime it works good and I don't have problem with the sound quality. But the connectivity is occasional. Sometime the phone can't "give" the call to minikit. I tried lots of variable. Start the call from the dailpad and the contacts. Sometime the I hear the ring from minikit and the other time not. It 's very strange. And if the minikit doesn't work, I can't choose the "Turn Hands-free On " option but I see the "headset" icon on the screen. Any idea about that problems? I have 1.03C version and I updated software on the minikit.  Sorry for my english sad

Re: HTC TYTN2

It is not a windows 6 problem, it is a parrot problem....

Re: HTC TYTN2

Yes indeed - We are not the only one - why Parrot doesn't react on our questions?? And make a working Firmware ??

Parrot people, please react on this issue!!

Re: HTC TYTN2

I addressed my problem to the Parrot helpdesk;

My phone type is HTC TyTn II, when i make a phonecall by pressing the green button on the parrot and say a programmed name, the phonecall works fine.
> When someone is calling me, and i push the green minikit button i receive the voice over the minikit speaker, so far so good.
>
> But when i type a phonenumber on the HTCphone and push the green button on the HTC then the minikit won't activate,  i can't hear a voice over  the minikit, and when i push the green button, also no voice.
>
> So the minikit can't take over the voice from the phone !!??
>
> I hope you have a solution for me, or fix the problem.
> The firmwareversion is 1.3.

The helpdesk reply's my mail with :

The HTC Tytn II isn't compatible with the Minikit.

See the link below :

My answer on this mail today:

Dear Sirs,

At the time i brought this Parrot Minikit (27 february 2008), i have checked the first link you have send me, and there was a picture of the TYTn II with text of TyTn II
Later i had wondered myself that this picture was chanced with the TyTn one,if i had seen the TyTn picture then i hadn't buy it !!
What is the explanation of removing the TyTn II of the site?
My phone is running now WM6.1 but also with WM 6.0 i have the same problems.
Is it possible to make a fix for the TyTn II, ther are many persons in the world with this phone and also the beautiful Parrot minikit !!
----------------------------------------------------------------
The same day, one hour later the Parrot helpdesk in France answers with (Very good service);

Dear Sir,

At one point we had validated the Tytn II with the Minikit but then we had negative feedbacks which forced us to retrieve it from our web site.

We will transfer your request to our R & D department
----------------------------------------------------------------

So, i hope that Parrot handle the TyTn II as a serious problem, and make  a.s.a.p.  a working firmware update !!!!!
I think its a good idea that everyone who have the same configuration (HTC p4550 TyTn II and Parrot minikit) make his concern on this forum, and make it clear for Parrot to fix our problem, with this beautiful carkit !!!
