Topic: MKi 9200 installation - wiring question

Hello - I have ordered the above system and will be installing it in a VW golf MK V 2008 - with the factory fit single CD player and an Ipod connection in the centre armrest.
I have order a harness to interface between the parrot unit and the VW radio but it looks like you also need to connect to a switched and unswitched power supply on the car. Can anyone advise where you would normally connect the power supplies on the car?

Thanks.

go to fuse box on drivers side both switched and poss there

I had the same problem on my Audi and went for the windscreen washer pump circuit. If I had found the right bits I would have used an 'empty' fuse option for a cleaner install.

I would have thought that the live and switched live would be available from behind the head unit?

Re: MKi 9200 installation - wiring question

The mark 5 golf does not have ignition at the radio as ign sense is done by the can bus.  The best place to go is as previously mentioned the fuse box on the end of the dash driver's side.  You will not need to take permanent live to there though as this will be taken from the radio.
