Topic: Parrot Party not charging

Hi, my husband got me a Parrot Party for Xmas last year and I love it, always use it with my laptop or mobile phone.  However over the last few months I noticed that the battery charge was lasting less and less, and now if I try and use it on battery, it lasts a few seconds and cuts out.

While plugged in it works fine, and the indicator light is always purple which means its charging, it just doesn't seem to.

Any ideas?  Surely a battery pack should last longer a year?

Thanks,
TractorGirl

Re: Parrot Party not charging

hi ,

i assume that  the battery should be defective , you need to contact your retailer  in order to exchange it.

Re: Parrot Party not charging

ive had 3 party parrot speakers , the battery has died on all 3 of them just after a year old, you cant even buy a new battery for it ,  its all a sham and a con !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ,  £69 each time for something that lasts only a year.

Re: Parrot Party not charging

Hey TractorGirl,
I am always using parrot speakers in my car but its always connected so i think i cant give you right advice….. I think you should call the service provider or contact them with your warranty card may be they will repair or replace it in very law rate or may be if its in warranty period you don't have to pay anymore. hats it just ring them.

All the very best & Thanks!  smile

Re: Parrot Party not charging

Hi, if you experience a fault with your product please contact your place of purchase, whom should be able to assist you.
Battery life can vary and the lifespan is reliant on the user charging methods,

Normally a fast charge, rather than a slow overnight charge, will shorten battery lifespan. However, if the charger cannot detect when the battery is fully charged, then overcharging is likely, which also damages the battery. Degradation usually occurs because active material falls off the electrodes. Batteries suffer the drawback that they should be fully discharged before recharge. Without full discharge, crystals may build up on the electrodes, decreasing the active surface area and increasing internal resistance. This decreases battery capacity and reduces the lifespan.

Re: Parrot Party not charging

It is of course totally unacceptable that Parrot Party is not selling the battery - it lasts a year or two and then the speaker is not portable any more! Even more so is it unacceptable because they have chosen a battery pack version and a connector type nobody sells mad  - why on earth make it impossible for the customers to use the product? However, I have found a company in the US (in Oregon) - cheapbatterypacks.com. I have send them the not-working battery and they will now re-use the connector and build a new pack for me - and send it back. THAT'S SERVICE, MR. PARROT.
