Topic: No Bluetooth showing

Hi

I've just bought a Minikit+ from Halfords, Plymouth. It was returned one after christmas however. Apparently the original buyer bought this instead of a wired one which was required. However, on getting it home and trying to pair with a Samsung Galaxy S2, I can't seem to pair it, my phone scans for devices but the Minikit+ doesn't show.

I also dont get any sign of bluetooth activity on the device itself, ie no blue light anywhere, should I see one?

Also, I've updated firmware to the latest and that seemed to go ok, it said

Hmmm, the full message seemed to be truncated after posting it.

I also added that I have reset the device but still no go.

Re: No Bluetooth showing

Hi Ukomoto,

does your Minikit+ boot up and can you hear spoken menus? If this is not the case, it might be a hardware failure and the unit would require to be fully exchanged.
If the Minikit+ boots up, could you try to detect it in Bluetooth with another mobile?

Re: No Bluetooth showing

Many thanks for the fast reponse, much appreciated.

I managed to get it working by holding down both the red and green buttons and it then all went smoothly. Nowhere in the manual does it tell you to do that to pair, unless I'm missing something. However, I can report that not only does the unit seem to be accurate on the voice calling side of things it also plays my music from both my music player and software like Tune In Radio. In addition it's giving me guidance audio in CoPilot Live and other apps as well, so a great plus to Parrot for that. I'll try it for real this afternoon and see how it works in the real world, but my initial reaction to the Minikit+ is Five Stars. Thank you.

Re: No Bluetooth showing

Oh, one other thing, I downloaded the Parrot Audio Configuration Tool, but it doesn't work with the Minikit+?  I was wondering how I can check my firmware/software version ?

Re: No Bluetooth showing

Hi again,

no, you don't need the Parrot Software Update Tool for the minikit+ as we decided to make it easier to update this device.
As shown on this page: http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/online … are-update

Now, you only need to plug your Minikit+ to your computer and to copy/paste the update file directly into the Minikit+ after having selected the update menu on it.

Also, regarding the software version, you can only see it into the Bluetooth name of the Minikit+which should be like "Parrot Minikit + v1.05".

Thank you great post!!!

Re: No Bluetooth showing

Hi all,

(Running Skype V 6.2.0.1117 on a 13" MBP, Mac OS X 10.8.2)

For the last few weeks, I have successfully used my bluetooth headphones/headset (Sony MDR-1RBT) with Skype. As of today, they are no longer recognized by Skype and no longer appear on the drop down list in preferences for Output or Input devices.

I have tried all of the following:
- uninstalling / installing Skype
- rebooting
- repairing my headset
- changing the bit rate on the bluetooth

Nothing has worked.  Not sure what else to try.

Has this happened to anyone else recently?  Any ideas, links or hints?
