Topic: MKi9200 Suddenly Stopped Working

I have enjoyed using the MKi9200 since I purchased it in December 2009.

Earlier this week I encountered a few niggling problems so decided it was time to upgrade the software. Now 2 days later, after it had been working fine after the update, the unit wont power up. The stereo works and when I connect the unit to my PC my computer recognises that the unit has been attached. I am scratching head what to do next.

I am not technically minded but I would appreciate if you have any possible solutions you could share.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I feel we have the same problem.  I bought my unit in 2009 and haven't had any problems until my latest update.

I updated my mki9200 to v1.96 (I couldn't upgrade directly to 2.**).

The upgrade was successful and I was able to apply all my custom settings after the upgrade.  Next time I got in the car the the mki9200 wouldn't boot up.  I cannot hear the usual "click" sound of it booting up.

I have checked the Parrot fuses and they are fine.  I did note that when I last left the car and turned the ignition off that the Parrot display didn't say "Goodbye" and it was as if the power had been disconnected instantly.

Does anyone know whether the Parrot control box is permanently bricked?  Is there anyway to do a "hard reset" to get it to boot again?

It seems to me that we have both had a very similar experience.

I also had to upgrade to v1.96 before upgrading to the latest version.

Ive had no problems prior to this and even when I turned off the engine I suspected there to be no problem. It's really unsettling that there appears to be so many problems associated with the most recent upgrade and so few staff from Parrot offering any help.

Mki9100 -  I am having the same problem. I have had it for just under a year and weeks ago it suddenly stopped working. I have changed the battery for the control unit to no avail.  Any ideas on how to fix this anomaly?

Bearing in mind you have had your 9100 for less than a year, and is therefore still in warranty, I would suggest you contact your supplier.

This is really disappointing.

I can see that Parrot Advisors have been answering queries to posts that have made after this was posted.

I can only assume that the issue of MKi9200 dying after the latest update is one that the advisors would rather not comment on as it presents as serious issue!

Is there no resolution to this problem or do the advisors hope that it can be swept under the carpet?
