Topic: Update to Android 1.6+?

Dear Parrot guys and gals,

Is there any plans to update the base version of Android on the Asteroid to 1.6 or higher?  I know 1.6 includes voice guided navigation which would be awesome to have on this unit and plus its already baked into the OS.

Hi All,

there are currently no plans to update Android version on the Parrot ASTEROID. Higher Android versions would indeed include much more components and features but it would require for a lot of changes on the inner software and we haven't schedule those kind of changes for now.

I read that gingerbread was to be on the new radios you are putting out at the CES show. Is this true, and if so, why wouldn't this radio have it also? Is support for this being dropped already?

As I just bought this unit and haven't even installed it yet, I sure would like to know an answer to that question as well.

Lack of continued updates would send the wrong message to your customer base and would cause many to lose faith in Parrot and hence, loss of future business. Please don't be shortsighted.

Good advice.  But it appears they are not going to follow it.  The latest software update didn't fix many of the issues these forums brought up.  In fact, they aren't even responding to them.  I signed up for email alerts, which would be a good vehicle for them to keep us informed.  But I guess they are just going to use them to let us know when (if?) a software update is available.
