Topic: Blackberry Storm Voice Command Problems

I have paired, repaired, de-paired and repaired again and I cannot get my Parrot to reliably accept voice commands with my Blackberry Storm.  Never a problem with my Curve or prior phones.

The Storm says it is initializing voice mail.  The Parrot shows the Voice recognition in progress and nothing happens.  No takeover of speakers, no a\"say a command" prompt.  It will work occasionally for one or two calls and then just stop.

Any suggestions?

Try removing the battery from the Storm and rebooting it. This seems to solve some problems with Blackberrys and Parrot 3200LS kits. One other thing to check is that the Parrot is set to "trusted device" in the bluetooth menu on the Storm.

I have same problems.  Have a BB Curve on Verizon and worked perfectly with 6100.  Just got Storm and everything is unbelievably slow.  I did reboot Storm without change.  Also the voice quality is really poor.  Am on leaked OS 109 for BB so latest possible.  Am set to trusted and it does pair fine.  Thoughts?

When you say "everything is unbelievably slow" is that when you are voice dialing or when it is synchronizing?  If it is when the Parrot is synchronizing it could be one of 2 things:

(1) if you have pictures associated with contacts the Parrot 3200LS will quite awhile to sync or will not sync at all. Remove the pictures from the contacts and it should work.

(2) Is the number of contacts that are on the BlackBerry. From the 3200LS FAQ Sheet: "The 3200 can store up to 1000 numbers, meaning if you have a contact that has 4 numbers in it (Home, Office, Cell, Other) that one contact counts as four numbers. Once you reach the 1000 number limit the kit will no longer accept contacts."

The voice dialing problem is apparently a known issue with the BlackBerry Storm. The problem will be fixed in a future software update from RIM (Research In  Motion the makers of the BlackBerry).

Hope this helps,
Bryan

Re: Blackberry Storm Voice Command Problems

I ended up putting OS 114 on Storm, I did a reset of Parrot 6100 (version I have, not 3200, sorry).  With both, it works but not using the internal contact list.  It does use the voice dial of my Storm.  good enough now.
