Topic: Autoplay from sd card at startup

Is there a way to get the asteroid to autoplay songs from the sd card at startup? Even if it was previously playing from the sd card, it just goes straight to the clock screen at startup.

I believe you just press source, even from a cold boot, and it will begin playing the last source you had on when the radio went off. Not sure if it stays on the last song though, haven't gotten that far yet...

Re: Autoplay from sd card at startup

This feature depends on both the amount of time your Parrot ASTEROID was shut down for, and the music source you were using. In every case, online applications are not resumed. This restriction was made on purpose to prevent unchecked 3G consumption. If your Parrot ASTEROID has been shut down for less than 30 minutes, audio source is resumed. If your Parrot ASTEROID has been shut down for more than 30 minutes, you must first press the “Source” button to resume audio source.

That is different from almost all other car stereos, which are made to resume playing on their own. Is there a way to have an autoplay functionality setting put in with the next update? Just a setting to tell it to automatically resume regardless of how long it has been off.

I would imagine most people would want their car stereos to autoresume/autoplay when they turn the car on, or at least have the option as a setting.

Yeah, not sure why the autoplay is attached to 3G consumption. If anything, if you leave the car with your phone, there would be NO WAY for the Asteroid to have a connection to consume 3G data. Sounds misguided to me.

Re: Autoplay from sd card at startup

I just installed my asteroid over the weekend and noticed the same issue. However it appears to be an undesirable feature.

I understand the part about not resuming data related applications, but I think it would be wise to still resume playback from SD or USB.  Every car stereo I've ever used always resumes playback of audio. Even if it was a tape, audio cd etc.

Please fix this. It's really annoying.
