Topic: Equalizer won't work and bluetooth disconnects too often...

Hello,

I just bought the Parrot Asteroid and all seems to be working on it except for two items:

1)  The Equalizer does not work.  No matter which selection is made (Pop, Vocal, etc) there is no difference in sound.  Base Effect and Loudness seem to work but the Equalizer doesn't.  The receiver is linked to a amplifier via RCA's

2)  While the phone (Blackberry 8530) is paired with the unit via bluetooth sometimes it will disconnect and reconnect even though the phone is right under the unit.  It keeps doing this, is there a setting that needs to change?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Calguy

I wish I was!  I replaced the RCA cables with brand new ones, gold plated (cost about 60.00 US bucks).  Began working fine for a grand total of 1 day!!!  Then Parrot blew my Amp.  Ha!  I can't believe this!  I've just owned this crappy radio for less than two whole days and I haven't even heard a decent album.  Where's the moderators???

No message or reply from Parrot.  Obviously they don't care.  This junk is going back to the factory at once.

I say if you're thinking of buying one save the money, time and frustration and by a nice blue-tooth enabled deck from Alpine or Kenwood, at least that will work and a reply will be made if there's any questions on a forum!

From,

One extremely unhappy customer!

Turn off the "automatically connect to Bluetooth" in the settings area.

Mine did exact same thing when I updated to the latest software and I checked the auto Bluetooth stuff that was now unchecked by default (I guess that was their fix w/ this new update when ppl complained abt Bluetooth issues on d previous software). It starting kicking me off and on of my iPhone 4. Then I unchecked the auto bluetooth, and it stabilized. They only thing now is that one has to manually scroll to Bluetooth to reconnect Bluetooth each time one stepped into d car.

There is a need for a fast fix. Many problems exist with this device, asteroid. Compatibility with Verizon 3G global USB dongle by pantech (gsm/CDMA) is not possible at this time. Who knows when? This device appears to be as good as my 2005 car's default stock radio at this time. It's a shame at this time to even demo asteroid to friends and neighbors for fear of dysfunctionality. Like I said: at this time. Hopefully a reliable update will be released and compatible spectrum increased.

Ps: forgive my typos. Typing really fast with my iPhone 4.

I called Parrot and they assured me that the EQ works with the preouts. Also, how did the Parrot blow ur amp? It does have a 6v preout and some amps don't like that high of a voltage, though the newest ones should be protected from any kind of shorting at the radio which would deliver the full 12-16v to the amp in any way. Are these older amps? Model numbers?
FYI, I'm not standing up for the Asteroid, I just want some clarification before I install my amp rack and blow it up too!!
