Topic: iPhone bluetooth streaming doesn't always work
MKi9000, firmware 2.02
iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1
Already tried factory resets on both MKi9000 and iPhone.
When I start my car, I hear my radio first, then it cuts out to the Parrot jingle. At that point, I hit the jog wheel to select bluetooth audio. If I'm very lucky, I hear my iPhone music and can usually control the tracks with the Parrot button controller. This is how I think the Parrot MKi9000 is supposed to work.
Recently, I have not been lucky. Instead, when I click the bluetooth option, I hear a click, silent pause, and then my radio resumes playing. No music from my phone.
I have found two workarounds to get the streaming going.
1) Dig in my pocket, find my iPhone, unlock it, open the music app, hit play. If I do this, the music streams fine, but my MKi controller is basically useless. I can pause and resume the song, and adjust volume. But I cannot skip, go back, fast forward, fast rewind. And if the song is at the end of my playlist, the music dies after it ends.
2) Dig in my pocket, find my iPhone, unlock it, open the settings, unpair from the MKi9000, repair to MKi9000. Now my MKi controller is very useful. All of the buttons do something. However, the next time my car starts, the MKi9000 will have forgotten how it paired with my phone, and I am back to the beginning.
How can I make it work more normally?
And to Parrot, why can't you make the MKi9000 remember the last used setting before it shut off? I only use the bluetooth option, and I have to manually select bluetooth every time I get in the car. This seems like a really easy fix- why isn't it in as of 2.02? (I started with 1.95)
