Topic: no contacts

So now it no longer pulls in the contacts from my phone.

It connected to the phone, and I can use the HF when I make a call with the phone. But when I try to make a call with the asteroid, it just says no contacts.

This is getting really frustrating.

Re: no contacts

Hi Oggie,

could you try cancelling pairing between your HTC Sensation and your Parrot ASTEROID (on your phone, forget the Parrot ASTEROID and do the same into the Parrot ASTEROID's settings) ?

Then, repair both devices.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that once, and it seemed to be downloading the phonebook, but it took forever. Everytime I'd hit the call button, it would say 'phonebook busy, please wait' or something like that. It stayed that way for a good ten minutes before I gave up.  I then reset everything, and it's back to the 'no contact' message again.

This used to work. I have no idea why it stopped working.

Re: no contacts

So I managed to fix this by wiping my phone and reinstalling the OS.

However, I'm not sure that was the problem. Who know whether it was the phone or the asteroid.  Regardless, it is now pulling the contacts from the phone again.

Either way, I hope I don't have to do this again.

Re: no contacts

Personally I don't let the phone/asteroid sync contacts the normal way. I didn't get any contact photos this way. What I did was do the special sync when setting up my phone on the asteroid and then said no contact sync. Then i disconnected the phone from the asteroids's bluetooth settings. Then i went to the contact lists on my phone and sent them all that way. Now it has all my phone/facebook contacts with phone numbers and contact photos, most of which were pulled from facebook if available. Others from google accounts.

Re: no contacts

how were you able to send the contact to the asteroid if you disconnected the bluetooth connection?

Thats just how it works. When you go to the contacts/people app on the phone to send it you choose what device to send to and since its already paired it has permission to send it, creates its own connection and it sends the contacts all in one big contact file and you're done. It wont send if you're already connected to the phone, it gives an error. Found these instructions on one of the other forums out there.. i think maybe the Parrot UK forums.

Ok, i am having the same problem with my newly installed asteroid.  i have a htc evo.  usb tethering works great.  when i try to call, i get the message on the screen no contacts.
on my phone, on the home screen, i have 'people'  when i select people, i get my alphabitzed contact list.  i select menu, and i have a choice to import/export, i select that and  my choices are to import from an sd card or export to an sd card.  specifically, how do i force the contacts to the asteroid?

Hit Menu and choose Import/Export, then select share visible contacts at the bottom of the popup menu. Then select bluetooth and then your asteroid. Make sure you're paired, but disconnected from the asteroid.

again, my phone only give me the choice to import or export to an SD card, no choice to share visible contacts, only the SD card thing.

Re: no contacts

That's and issue with your phone then. That is how you share contacts in Ice Cream Sandwhich's People app, if its not there complain to your manufacturer for removing basic features.

Re: no contacts

Ok, I got back on the EVO forums, and decided to flash MIUI last week, which is based on 'ice cream sandwich' go figure.....  I lost my contacts in the 'people' app, which were the apps entered on my phone, but syncing with my outlook and email at work is fine, anyhow, now all of my remaining contacts are available on the Asteroid.  I am having fun with the voice dialer, and that sexy brit announces all my callers by name, how cool is that?   then i ran into the next problem....when I put the micro usb plug into the phone, the only choice i would get on the phone was to allow usb drive.  no network connection.  hmmm, a little time spent going thru the menus in settings, and i tried the bluetooth network option.  I restarted everything, and heck yes,  my phone sends network thru the blue tooth, don't even need to plug it in.  I can reload my contacts by entering them in my outlook at work.  tried to revive 'people' with my titanium backup, says it is updated and restored, but can't find the app.  oh well, very happy camper now!
