Re: Blackberry 8700

The BlackBerry 8700 does not support the necessary Bluetooth profile, OPP, to send contacts via Bluetooth to the Minikit. To be able to add voice tags you will need to send the contacts from another device, such as another Bluetooth phone or a Bluetooth computer.

To send from another device you need to make sure that the contacts will be associated with the Blackberry. To do so connect your phone to the car kit, then turn the knob to 'add VOICE TAGS' select it by pressing the middle button. The kit will automatically disconnect from your phone and announce "awaiting a contact."  At this point contacts sent from any device will be assoicated with your phone, in your case BlackBerry 8700. To send from someone else's phone follow that phone's object push procedure listed on the Parrot compatability website

If you can borrow someone else's phone on the same network you can even put your SIM card in their phone and send the contacts saved on your SIM card to the kit without having to re-enter it manually on the other phone.

If you prefer to send from your Bluetooth enabled computer download the PDF and follow the directions "Send Contacts from Bluetooth Enabled PC to Parrot Minikit" Available at

You can easily access your whole address book threw Microsoft Outlook. Remember any PC can become Bluetooth enabled with the purchase of a Bluetooth dongle. A BT dongle is a small USB device that looks similar to a flash drive that will give your PC Bluetooth connectivity. The are usual availbe for $20-$40 from any electronics store. Personally I recommend the Parrot dongle, but you should be able to use any dongle that support the Obex Object Push Profile (OPP).
